Freedom SACC

As consumers of mental health services, we face many obstacles in our lives, and often we must face them alone.  Therefore, it is important for us to learn about self-advocacy, a process that involves identifying the obstacles that we face, developing strategies to overcome them, and then implementing these plans.  Although we are often discouraged from standing up for ourselves, self-advocacy is possible for each consumer.

At Freedom SACC we focus on training you in several goals to help you establish and implement your ability for self advocacy.  Training includes but are is not limited to:
  • Believing in yourself
  • Being assertive
  • Managing your anger
  • Problem solving strategies
  • Knowing your rights

Freedom SACC has partnered with The Clearinghouse, National Mental Health Association (NMHA) and the National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems (NAPAS) to be a training station for consumers and their caregivers who receive or are in need of receiving mental health services.

Due to a $1,100.00 grant from CVS Caremark we are able to provide this training to you at not charge.  If you are a caregiver or a consumer in need of mental health services, please contact one of our Freedom SACC representatives at 317-714-2077
